Bali Body Highlighter Sticks

Highlighter is hands down my favourite makeup product. It can easily transform everyday makeup into something more glamorous or make skin look glowy and bright even when it is dull and tired underneath. The best part? It takes minimal effort to apply - just swipe a bit over your cheekbones, brow bones and down your nose and you are good to go! So when Bali Body got in touch about trying their BRAND NEW Highlighter Sticks, I leapt at the chance.

Firstly, let me tell you that I probably own enough highlighters to cover my whole body and go into work looking like Robert Pattinson in Twilight when he stands in the sunshine... but I have never tried a liquid highlighter before. I was excited to see how Bali Body's creamy formula would compare to the powder highlighters I have been using for years. The application stick is like a lip gloss and a little goes a long way - I put a few small dabs over my foundation and then blend the highlighter in using my finger. I feel like this method gives a very natural finish which could be worn day or night. Also, the highlighter is buildable so you can add more if you want a more sparkly look! The formula goes from cream to matte once it has been applied so you do not have to worry about it moving around on your face.

The Highlighter Sticks come in three shades: Moonlit, Sunkissed and Rose Gold (as swatched from top to bottom in the photo above). Moonlit is my go-to shade for everyday wear as this is quite subtle and blends nicely with my foundation shade (as I am quite pale). If I want my highlighter to 'pop' a bit more, then I use Rose Gold as this is better suited for when I am going for more of a glam look. Unfortunately Sunkissed doesn't suit my skin at the moment but hopefully when I have a tan I will be able to use it (maybe I will apply some of Bali Body's Tanning Mousse to see how it looks!). As I sometimes do with my powder highlighters, I tried these Highlighter Sticks as eyeshadow and these create the perfect metallic liquid eyeshadow look. I know this is not what the product is designed for but I love a makeup product which is versatile!

After trying the Bali Body Highlighter Sticks, I can't believe that I have never tried a liquid highlighter before. These liquid highlighters have definitely converted me! In addition to being amazing Highlighter Sticks, they are also 100% vegan and cruelty free, what more could you want? You can check out Bali Body's new cosmetics range here.

  1. I love a good highlighter! These three shades are gorgeous, though I always go for gold shades as it matches my skintone better - so Sunkissed looks like I would be great for me! Thank you for this review Emma! :)
